Uruguay is one of the smallest of the South American countries. It’s bounded to the north by Brazil, to the southeast by the Atlantic, and is separated from Argentina in the west and south by the River Uruguay. The country has some great scenery and miles of fantastic sandy beaches, which two great ones in particular are Playas and Miramar. The country doesn’t get as many tourists as their neighbors Brazil and Argentina, but with its great beaches, summer can get extremely busy and you should book your accommodation far in advance.
