Ecuador is located in South America and is bordered by Colombia, Peru and the Pacific Ocean. It’s a country that has loads of things to do and see. It has tropical rainforests in the Amazon basin on the east side of the country and it has one of the most unique islands in the world, in the Galapagos Islands, which is located off the west coast of the country. The Galapagos Islands has become internationally known since Charles Darwin developed his theories of evolution, as 50% of the wildlife found on the island won’t be found anywhere else on earth. Besides its rainforests and islands, Ecuador has a fascinating history as the capital Quito used to be one of the sites from the Inca Empire. The country is a definite must, as it has something to offer every traveller.
