Laos is one of the few communist countries left in the world and its doors weren’t open to tourist’s still 1988. It’s a landlocked country bordered to the north by China, to the east by Vietnam, to the south by Cambodia and to the west by Thailand and Myanmar. The countries biggest tourist attractions are the mountains, where you can do jungle treks and see some stunning views of the countryside. The other big tourist attraction and the main form of transport in the country is the Mekong River. Laos is a laid-back country and thousands of people are flocking here every year.
